Celebrations, Selfies & TV Show Marathons

Who said the uni life is a tough one?!?

Ok, no, it is. I just haven't gotten down to any real work. Yet.

I've been caught up in Eid celebrations all weekend and 'twas a blast. My macarons actually turned out really well! Here's the picture I promised.

Bar a small mistake, they looked perfect and tasted delicious so I'm quite proud of myself especially since I finished them off at 8am with sleepy eyes and a hazy mind. An all-out barbecue, a sugar overload and spending time with the family and my cute little nephews and nieces made for a pretty awesome Eid. And yes, I jumped on the Eid selfie bandwagon (they are mandatory after all) with the kid.

I spent yesterday recovering from sleep deprivation by snuggling up in my electric blanketed bed with my laptop and catching up with all my tv shows; namely The Vampire Diaries and X-Factor (note that I'm only keeping up with the former out of force of habit - I personally think they need to scrap the show because the repeated storylines are getting annoyingly tedious). I also started a new series, How To Get Away With Murder. And I'm hooked. It's one of those shows that just pulls you in right from the word go and it's cleverly set out coupled with dark humour and a creepy edge - it's brilliant.

I did do something productive though yesterday. My application for dentistry has officially been sent off. Eek. I've applied for the five-year undergraduate course at Leeds, Bristol, Manchester, and Barts and the London. I figured if I applied for the graduate entry, I'd stand no chance of getting a place so I cheated. Slightly.

Now I play the waiting game. The nerves.
