Photographic Evidence

I know you guys have taken my word that I'm casually wandering about the Third World getting up to this, that and the other, but I thought what better way to end my placement than with a few pictures for you to marvel at whilst simultaneously providing proof that I am actually here and not making things up from the top of my head.
I hate to disappoint, but I don't have any pictures from the dental department (I promise you that you're not missing out on much) but I did take some of the labs I was in and the people I had the opportunity to work with.
Enjoy!
Me, caught happy-dancing on the way to the biochemistry lab in my sexy laboratory attire. Attractive, I know |
Angela working the Erba-XL200 clinical chemistry analyser for the liver and renal function tests |
Colin and Ed pretending to work in haematology |
Ed using Erba Elite 5 to carry out tests on blood samples |
Ed staining for sickle cell disease |
One of the many PCR rooms |
Mr Bukhu preparing the blood bag ready to go off for an emergency blood transfusion |
Mr Nkhunda and Welton posing by the blood bank |
And Mr Bukhu also having his turn |
Tuberculosis Laboratory |
Welton testing patient samples for TB using PCR |
Serology department; testing patient samples for hepatitis B/C |
Flow Cytometry; testing for HIV/AIDS |
Welton and Maida in the biochemistry lab |
Ahhhh I'm missing it all already :(
